The Conservancy is the statutory Harbour Authority and is responsible for the safety of navigation, the regulation of moorings, works and dredging, enforcement of harbour byelaws and the collection of dues and charges. Its duty is the conservancy, maintenance and improvement of the Harbour and the Amenity Area for recreation and leisure, nature conservation and the natural beauty. The Conservancy also acts as the Joint Advisory Committee for the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). (Source CHC)

You can then take a pleasant hours walk to Bosham or further afield. To catch the ferry walk to the end of the jetty and he will either be there or returning shortly. Do not panic sometimes he may be 15 minutes or so as he also takes mariners to and from their moored vessels. The seasonal ferry runs from April - the end of October Running times: 0900-1800 Daily: 16 May - 30 September.
